Like so many so it seems, I am a huge fan of the work of .
While the comic makes tremendous use of the elongated strip format, I am an old school comic book fan. Almost since the first time I saw this work, I have been thinking about how it could be translated onto the printed page. Each strip seems to be a different size, but rarely in dimensions easily fit to a standard comic book page. Some large panels seem just right for a full page splash, but some of the best material is so large as to dwarf even what a full page could contain. Even the man himself commented on how much of a pain it would be to ready the thing for publication.
Even with these challenges (or maybe even because of them), the problem of how this could someday make it into print stayed in my head. So I decided to do something about it...
Since this is a PDF, you'll need to hit download on the right side. I recommend that you view this as a dual page layout with odd pages left. It won't look as sweet on your iPad as the PDF version of chapter 1 that shiniez uploaded last week, but I'm hoping it would look great in book form.
I'm a little torn...this has some very phenomenal, moving moments in it. But the comparisons to nilla life feel didactic and preachy, and some of the dialogue walks that line too (i.e."Lisa is feeling embarassed, naked..."). Watch it, and you'll really have something <3
i had been following this work since some of the first posts and had wondered this same thing myself. thanks for putting in all the hard work to turn it into a printable format!
Somehow would have to fit in the "solo page/pages" somewhere. The obviously linked "Pumpkin Ally and Witchy Lisa" and the "Lisa on the Beach with Her Fascinating Tanlines" pics leap to mind.
